Sushi: Safe for Dogs and Cats?

Sushi is too broad to treat as one safe food. Raw fish carries pathogen and parasite risks, while soy sauce, wasabi, avocado, spicy mayo, tempura, and other fillings can add salt, fat, or unsafe ingredients.

Sushi should not be offered to cats. Raw fish can carry bacteria or parasites and affect thiamine intake, while rice, soy sauce, avocado, spicy condiments, and other roll ingredients add separate concerns.
