Tilapia: Safe for Dogs and Cats?
Tilapia is safe for healthy dogs only when it is properly cleaned, skinned, deboned, and fully cooked; raw, farmed-source, fried, or seasoned fish carries different risks.
Safe serving: A small piece of plain, fully cooked tilapia fillet with the skin, bones, oil, batter, and seasoning removed.
Plain, fully cooked, boneless tilapia is safe for healthy cats as an occasional treat, but raw fish, skin, bones, batter, oil, and seasoning should be avoided.
