House Pet

Editorial standards

The evidence should be as easy to find as the answer.

These rules cover food safety, everyday care, tools, product research, updates, and corrections across House Pet Authority.

Revised July 20, 2026

01

Source the answer

Safety pages begin with veterinary authorities, veterinary-school resources, peer-reviewed literature, and official datasets. Every food verdict carries at least one authoritative source link.

02

Keep species separate

Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, pet rats, and budgies receive species-specific care routes. Food reviews give dogs and cats separate answers.

03

Show the review trail

Editorial pages show publication and update dates. Food verdicts show the date each species review was checked. A date changes only when the underlying content changes.

04

Write for the household

The answer leads. Source language is translated into plain, calm instructions while emergency actions and evidence boundaries stay explicit.

05

Research shopping claims

Product guides compare published specifications, price bands, category criteria, and patterns in owner feedback. Affiliate relationships are disclosed beside the shopping experience.

06

Protect every published page

Each page must keep required emergency notices, citations, review dates, accurate product details, working imagery, clear retail disclosures, and reachable next steps.

Corrections begin with the exact page.

Email the URL, the sentence or data point in question, and the supporting source. The publisher checks the evidence, corrects the page and its underlying facts, and changes the visible update date when the published content materially changes.
