Oysters: Safe for Dogs and Cats?
CautionDogs
A small amount of plain, fully cooked oyster meat may be tolerated by a healthy dog, but raw oysters can carry pathogens, shells can injure or obstruct, and marine biotoxins are a separate concern.
CautionCats
Plain cooked oyster meat is not considered inherently toxic to cats, but raw oysters, shells, spoilage, thiaminase, salt, butter, and seasoning make oysters a poor routine treat.
