Hash Browns: Safe for Dogs and Cats?

Hash browns are usually fried, salty, and seasoned, and many recipes add toxic onion, garlic, or chives. They should not be offered to dogs even though fully cooked plain potato is a different food.

Hash browns should not be offered to cats. They are processed, oily, salty, and often cooked with onion or other seasonings. A stolen plain bite is different from raw or green potato exposure.
