Chicken Skin: Safe for Dogs and Cats?

Chicken skin is fatty and often carries concentrated salt, garlic, onion, breading, or other seasonings. Plain cooked skin is different from fried or seasoned skin, but neither should become a routine dog treat.

Plain thoroughly cooked chicken skin is not toxic to most cats, but it is much fattier than the meat. Fried, salted, or seasoned skin should not be offered, especially when garlic or onion is present.
