Capers: Safe for Dogs and Cats?

Capers are not inherently toxic to dogs, but the usual pickled or brined form is very high in sodium and should not be offered as a treat.

Capers should not be offered to cats because the common brined form is extremely salty and can cause digestive, hydration, kidney, or urinary problems when enough is eaten.
